Wrapped in layers of bubble wrap then boxed in between even more layers of bubble wrap. Then the box was wrapped in plastic to make it waterproof. Buy from this person. They know how to ship things.

Highly recommended for ease of use and performance
I bought the Synology to replace an older Seagate NAS, and I'm very impressed with the useability and features the Synology offers, and also with the performance.
The web interface is identical to a typical desktop with icons for various apps and is very easy to use with almost no learning curve - if you can use a pc or tablet you'll be right at home with the Synology.
There's a good range of applications - file manager, storage manager, download manager, media servers - and they're all easy to use, and the Synology has an excellent help system.
I'm very impressed with the performance (file transfer speed) which is excellent (way above the Seagate I had previously), and around the maximum that can be achieved on a gigagit network.
The file download, VPN and PTP features are excellent and work well.
All in all, an excellent product with lots of features and performance, very easy to use and very reasonably priced.

Can't go wrong with Micron - rock solid product with excellent performance and long life. Never had any fail.
