Easier on my Desk
The flat shape makes this easy to place on my desk without the stiffness and thickness of round CAT-5 cabling. It also flexes well and does not cause a lightweight switch to be pushed around when the cable is bent into a 'U' shape to mate with the switch. The small 30 AWG wiring would not be good for long runs but it works fine in an office. I would not suggest walking on it though. All in all it works for me.
