Very good, in bite-sized pieces...
Devotional Classics was recommended to me. It met or exceeded my expectations on all counts. It covers many, many writers of every ilk grouped into subject areas such as Prayer, Love, etc. Each writers piece is but 3-4 pages, just right for a one-a-day regimen. The book would be excellent for a small group like a Sunday school class or prayer group that meets once a week for a short time. What makes it even better for this use are the post-article comments of the author, a selected small Bible reading and then the discussion questions. And these, unlike those within many other volumes of similar structure, are very well thought-out and encourage one to seriously ponder what they have just read. I have thoroughly enjoyed this purchase.

Dark Night by May
1 of 1 found this helpful This is Gerald May at his best - It is a quick read for someone interested in our spiritual highs and lows. I read it on recommendation of a friend and priest. I had read Will and Spirit(?) by May and found it equally a good read, but this one is more about personal faith and the other is more heavily about our interrelationships. I intend to re-read Dark Night.
