panels charging a MAXX 29 deep cycle in an airstream from Walmart.
3 of 4 found this helpful works as intended. I use the P30L LCD 30A Solar Panel Regulator Charge Controller 12V 24V 390W 780W. I have 1 ever start MAXX 29 deep cycle from WALMART. the seem the best at holding 13 volts in the battery the longest. The battery never doped below 12.2 volts with the radio, cigret lighter inverter to run the 19" flat panel TV in the air stream all on at the same time all day till 10:00-11:00 PM.

Works as intended!
It charges the two batteries in my 76 international airstream. I put 320 watts of solar on the roof. They are wired down into the control panel and then down to the batteries.
Because of the way the international airstream was built I was fortunate and lucky that I was able to drop the ground from the battery throughout the system because everything grounds to the airstream.
Which means that I have the solar and the charge controller going directly to the battery only and no grounds to the airstream.
Because of that it allows me to use the 30A light connection. I have a fuse panel hooked to the light circuit to run all my accessories up to 30 A.
The controller is designed to drop the ground on the light circuit when the battery gets low. The default program is off at 10.7V and 12.6V on.
If the ground is not isolated on that charge controller it will not drop the ground and shut off to devices to save your battery.
Not all travel trailers are set up in design to be able to use the amp our feature with the charge controller. Therefore no matter which one you buy you’ll still have the same problem.
If you’re looking for a good reliable charger that you can hook up to your battery and your solar panel and maintain your battery this will get the job done and that’s all the designs do anyway is charge.
