Super sharp telephoto zoom
This is an earlier autofocus telephoto zoom, built in the days when they were made to last. Push/pull type zoom with separate focus ring, aperture ring with lock for AE settings, no modern VR, but a great tripod mount built in. Optically this is every bit as sharp as the current 70-300mm lenses, with just a little more contrast, making the images appear punchier. It does not have a built in motor, so will only autofocus with a suitable body. Focus is quick and accurate, just used this lens on a track cycling day in poor light with great results. It has a handy close focussing “macro” setting with a focus limit switch. Available for as little as £50, this is a real bargain buy if you have a suitable body and can live without VR.

Great value 4K smart TV
Used within a home cinema set up, the screen is great. Fantastic quality picture, almost three dimensional when fed with a 4K source. Good smart connectivity, but channel guide is a bit slow and clunky (normal for Panasonic). Sound quality is very good for watching normal tv, so I don’t feel the need to fire up the home cinema amp unless we are watching a movie and need the full surround sound experience.

Cheap way to get WiFi for a DSLR
Nice little unit that allows for remote control of camera functions, shutter release and transfer of images to iPhone or iPad.
Took a little bit of fiddling around to get it set up, including a firmware update and reboot, but works great with my Nikon D810 via the dedicated app. I had just upgraded from a D7200 and was missing the built in WiFi and Nikon WMU app, but this seems to do everything that I need in a neat and cheap package.
