704cb stainless--Solid, solid performers!
0 of 1 found this helpful I'm a 3 handicap. I recently had been playing Taylor Made r7 TPs but I wasn't happy with the performance or the feel. I began looking around the Bay for some forged Titleists in good shape. These came to me with nice grooves and dynamic gold s300s. I'd read all the reviews on these sticks before I got them and I'll have to agree with a few things. They do feel heavier than some other irons but I really believe that once you get used to the heft of the irons it will help slow you down and improve your tempo. I know it did mine. The first day I played them on the course I played the back tees at a very penal course and shot a high score (85). I did hit a few solid shots with the irons but also some clunkers. However, I was asked to play the next day and played at a private country club that I play very rarely and to make a long story short shot the best round of the year (72) with my most accurate iron play in months. Most every iron shot I hit were solid and right down my line! Now, other reviewers have said that these are not particularly long distance wise however I believe that if your swing is grooved and you have a high ss with irons they will go. Right now, for me, I'm having success just swinging nice and slow and controlled and letting the club do the work. I'm grooving my distances with a controlled swing. These heads will help you work the ball also. I was forced to hit a cut shot around a tree within my 72 round as a result of a pushed driver off the tee. I opened up the blade, pointed it at the pin and opened my stance enough to miss the tree. Swinging down my stance line the ball curved beautifully around the tree and tracked straight for the pin, exactly the way I had envisioned the shot. In a nutshell, if you have a solid swing and are a decent ball striker these will allow you to perfect your tempo and hit the ball the way you want to. I'd love to find a new set at a good price. I'd probably have to buy a new set.
