Pretty and petite, great design, has some flaws
We were excited to purchase the latest 6th generation iPod Nano after it was recently announced by Apple a few weeks ago. I just received the Graphite (aka "Silver") 16 GB model in the mail so here are my initial impressions. I previously owned a 3rd generation iPod Nano and there are some stark differences in the newest version over previous. In addition to the increased storage and great music listening quality that you get in a typical iPod device, here are a few things I noticed that seemed more unique: Navigation is all by finger touch - There are no more turn-dial style knob to change menus or screens - completely touch screen. This is a great feature but it takes some playing around with and getting used to. This finger touch metaphor is similar to what Apple has done in their navigation designs for the iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone so if you're familiar with the use metaphors there, this will be more straightforward to you. Radio is built in - this feature isn't necessarily new to the 6th generation Nano but it's a great feature and works really well. I quickly added all of my local favorite radio stations in a few minutes. One thing to note though is that I believe you will need the original Apple headphones that come with the Nano in order to use the radio function, I'm assuming the FM antenna is built into the headphones, because when I unplugged the headphones from the device (when the radio was still turned "on"), I received a message "No radio signal. Please plug in headphones for radio reception" Petite size - it measures only about 1.5" high and 1.75" wide - it's very small and easy to fit anywhere. Past models were big enough that it could be annoying to run or do exercise with them, I don't think that's an issue any longer with this new design. Clip is built-in - there is a great and seemingly sturdy clip automatically built onto the back of the device - makes it easy to clip onto your clothes or shirt when going for a run or when you're on-the-go. Pedometer is built-in - there is a feature for a pedometer where you can automatically time/count your steps. Pretty neat feature. Clock is handy too - you can use it as a stop watch, or an alarm clock as well. Perfect when traveling away from home. Download photos - you can sync it with iTunes to download photos onto the device so they're accessible when on-the-go. And the flaws: -------------- No "off" switch - I know this sounds odd but my husband and I were baffled, after reading through the instruction manual, to not find instructions on how to turn the device completely off. I've read that this will cause some minor battery drain when not in operation. This may therefore require more frequent charging than older models. There was a discussion thread on the Apple.com message boards where you can find more info. Touch screen manipulation - because it's such a small device, you can only see a few options on the screen for your applications at any particular time so it takes a little getting used to. I've found that if you keep flipping your finger to the left, you will be able to navigate back "up" to the previous screen or menu. This isn't a huge flaw, just worth mentioning... In summary, it's a nifty and petite, yet powerful, music playing device and we're excited to use it.

Highly recommend for preschool aged children for teaching socialization
We just purchased this book for our 3.5 year old son who has a short temper and no patience. He has been struggling with some socialization skills in his preschool class and sometimes hitting other children as a result of toy conflicts and other similar age appropriate behaviors. But our son loves books so I figured I'd give these books by Cheryl Meiners a shot since I read good reviews about them online and they have been amazing. I purchased 4 in total that pertained to our immediate needs, but there is a whole series of them all focused on various socialization skills. The books are illustrated beautifully and all speak in very simple terms - my son enjoys talking about the pictures and what the children are doing in the pictures. I am hoping this will evolve into stories of what is happening in his preschool. For "Cool Down and Work Through Anger," he likes to talk about the conflicts he sees in the pictures in this book (such as asking to play and the group of children responding with "no, sorry but you can't play") and what he can do in response to feeling angry about these situations. Highly recommend for a preschool aged child who is learning how to deal with anger and acquire the skills for controlling one's body in positive ways.

Great set of Harry Potter stickers for your HP fan!
Great set of Harry Potter stickers for your Harry Potter fan. Great quality and good selection of different scenes and characters from the movie. Used a selection for our son’s Harry Potter Pinewood Derby car for Cub Scouts
