One of the best 50s out there for a low cost.
These lenses are wonderful, almost as good as the 1.4 for a fraction of the cost. While these lenses are well built and easy to repair, they aren’t durable due to the very common oil on aperture blades which will make the lens shoot wide open.
This lens is sharper than any kit lens and can make some wonderful photos on both full-frame or APS-C sensors.

Nothing beats the original remote
So the BX1 does accept control over HDMI, so I wasn’t sure if I really needed to buy the original remote but, I am glad I did, the ability to get the menus whenever I want is nice.
One strange thing though, this remote is absolutely huge, like the biggest remote I own by a long shot. I guess that makes it harder to lose but it does take up a lot of space.

A solid camera for A-Mount/Minolta AF.
Great as a stills camera, great as a video camera too with two caveats. The first being that in autofocus mode you are limited to a fixed f3.5 and it is limited to less than 30mbps avchd codecs.
This camera is a great choice if you are on a budget due to the quality and cost of Minolta AF lenses. A lot of the Sony lenses sadly have plastic mounts and the gears in my kit lens stripped, so they don’t make them like they used to quite literally.
The phase detect af is fast and accurate but it is fairly light dependent, so not the best choice for low light situations. Built in 3.5mm audio jacks and DC power in port make this a great desk camera for youtubers.
