BIGGER BALLS

I bought chinese rolled ball screws from a vendor on Ebay. 1 of the 3 ball screws/nuts had close to .003" of slop. After taking it apart, and cleaning everything, the original balls mic-ed out at about .1243" Using the new balls,I easily added 2-3 extra per circuit, without any binding. The ball screw/nut now turns smooth from end to end, and all play was removed. When checking your balls with micrometers, be very careful, and don't overtighten the mic's. You will put small flat spots on the balls. Clean-clean-clean... Take the ball nut apart, and clean out all the black soot (like all mainland-chinese products have) I used a can of Automotive brake-cleaner. Use grease in the circuits to hold the balls in place while assembling.
