Pleasantly surprised so far
1 of 1 found this helpful I’ve been waiting and waiting for Makita to redesign their 18v multi tool to be more ergonomic as they have on their 18v grinder. I saw this knock off and thought I’d give it a try. Makita should just copy this one. It has a light and feels much better in my hand. It has plenty of power too. The charger and battery are pretty much useless if you already have a collection of LXT batteries. It would be great if this one will hold up like the Makita I’ve had AND USED HARD for several years. I use all my Makita LXT professionally. The only ones I’ve burned up are a non-brushless drill (I abused it) and a 6-1/2” saw (probably same).
The engineers on this semi-clone even put a light on it with a better locking mechanism. Only downside is that universal blades with an open end won’t fit without an adapter. Generic star lock blades in bulk are harder to find.

I like it so far.
I bought the 18 gauge and also the 16 gauge. These aren’t hobby guns for me. They get used in my cabinet shop and also for installs. I went with bostitch this time mainly for the “smart point” feature. It doesn’t get in the way like the ginormous safety mechanisms on other nailers. I always went with senco in the past but the new senco nailers aren’t like the old ones. The problem I have with those are in the strip nail magazine where the silver follower comes loose and nails slip and won’t advance. I still love the senco sks tho. Mine are 25 years old and still going with very few repairs ever needed on them. Best ever. I’ll update my review if these bostitch guns fall apart.
