OEM part that fit perfectly.
This adapter fit the DA sander perfectly, and snug enough in the exhaust port that I had to add a little silicone o-ring lube to allow it to slip through the rubber bushing in the tail of the sander handle.
This saved a valuable tool from being thrown out after someone disappeared with the adapter that came with it originally.

Amazing solder flux for difficult metals
I needed to solder some nickel plated wire, and found that regular rosin flux doesn't touch the oxide layer on nickel.
Following some digging and stumbling across the Kester solderablity of metals report, I found this 2331-ZX flux mentioned as electronics safe, and capable of working on nickel.
A quick application of the flux to the stripped wire, and a couple seconds of heat allowed the same 60/40 and 62/36/2 solders that I've normally used to work beautifully on the wire that was previously not solderable.
The only gotcha about it is that it's an acid, and the fumes are damaging to your respiratory system if inhaled. Use fume extraction and keep your head away from them!
