Not very good for standard desktop application...
I was very pleased to see the item was new-old stock, in a sealed box and ready to go...I am sure it works just great in the right application, but unfortunately it will not work in my new Dell Vostro 5880 desktop - not the card's fault, but I believe a "marketing" limitation asserted in the firmware by Dell to force you to buy up in their product line in order to implement RAID...
Very sad situation in my opinion, particularly when the Dell BIOS/UEFI has a setting for RAID (for embedded Intel RST, which won't work either!) that you can see in their online documentation, that when ordering, one can infer that the box supports RAID embedded and/or RAID cards...oh well, live-n-learn...
The main reason I downrated the card is that it runs so hot that you need some sort of additional cooling for the card, so it's not amenable for a normal desktop...it's really designed for cool environments like server rooms and the like...
In the right application, it is a great value for the price I paid...

Scaling off for some pieces...
I love the design of the kit except for a couple deal-killers for my layout...it looks pretty good until I compare it to the other kits for my layout - the scale is too far off on some pieces, such as the stair railings and door/window trim - when I set it next to one of my other more scaled models it looks just too toy-like in comparison...I suspect part of that is the designers wish to make it easier to build, but for N-scale, it just doesn't cut it...the other thing I do not like, again in comparison to my other models is the diagonal decking on the boardwalk - it just looks too out of place, even when I look at pictures of old towns, I never see diagonal...in my case I have some 1/32" thick scored material that I can lay over the kit stuff so I can get past that issue...also, the wall junctions use strips in the kit whereas at N-scale, some angle stock would be much better to include in the kit...to sum up, it looks good in pictures but not so much on the layout - I think most modelers who choose N-scale are going to be looking more towards the craftsman look, whereas maybe HO and above would be more tolerant of the things I mention...would LOVE to see these kits if the scaling was more realistic...
