Easy DIY Repair
These rollers age terribly in the dishwasher. Hot water, repeated harsh use and strong detergents cause the plastic to wear and crumble. Eventually the rollers get so wobbly they no longer track smoothly when the top shelf is slid out.
Once you've lifted out the top shelf onto your work surface, it literally takes just a couple of minutes with either strong fingers or a non-metallic prising tool to release the one-way clips on the old roller assemblies. You push the new ones in their place and it's Job Done.
I consider items like this to be normal wear and tear, so it's good they can be easily and fairly cheaply seen to when required. If you can open a Milo tin, you can probably complete this repair.

Dependable "budget buy" in the secondhand 5:4 LCD monitor market.
1 of 1 found this helpful Simple and common 19 inch screen, now selling cheap at five years plus in age. As of early 2012, market price seems to be less than AUD$30.
Appeal (subjectively) is no-nonsense styling and slim pedestal. Functionally, the DVI-D input means it still goes fine with modern motherboards - no adaptor needed. Removable power cord another good detail.
I have just one stuck pixel between two identical monitors; a tolerable rate of failure.
There are plenty of other plug-and-play 19" LCD monitors, above and below this used pricepoint. I stick with these ones simply because they provide dependable service and show consistency between units.

Removes Frustration and Pain
I'm reluctant to call this item a "gadget". That would suggest some aspect of it being unnecessary.
It's more a tool to help people with weak hands undertake a normal activity (opening cans with ring pulls). Does the job well, and it's not expensive.
When the tip eventually breaks (after several years) the whole item is easy to replace.
It gets four stars, not five, as the tool is not readily separated into different recyclable materials at end of useful life.
