1978 S REDFIELD MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR.
4 of 4 found this helpful Morgan silver dollars are a part of the coinage which shaped our country. Made of 90% silver mined in our country, it is a true pillar of our community of old. Designed by one of the best the US Mint had to offer, George T. Morgan, his silver dollar has become one of the most collected coins in the world. A true relic of early America and enough history and diversity to keep any collector spending a lifetime in an effort to collect all the different mint varieations called VAMs. Of the many hoards of these silver dollars found in our country was that of a Mr. Redfield who managed to amass several hundred thousand of these beautiful coins. Being found in mint condition and "slabbed" by one of the pioneers of the slabbing world, they became highly collectable in their origional holders and even in the holders of newer grading companies. In a Redfield coin, one holds a lot of the history which made our country's coinage fabled past come to life. A must for any true collector of American silver coinage and silver dollars in this country. A legend in your hands, with a pedigree of ownership.....ever wonder who held a coin before you did? In this case, you know some of its' background!

Starting a set of our neighbor to the north coinage.
I am new to collecting Canadian coins, so buying those already graded by a trusted TPG is almost a must for me. I did buy the Canadian equivalent of the "Red Book" to learn more and give me an idea of pricing and am off and running on putting together older Canadian coins for the fun of it. Being able to to put together a collection that has financial probabilities of being complete down the road is exciting as it is within my means. If it proves to be a good investment.....I do not know, but it is fun and worth the time and effort. This was made over 100 years ago and survives in mint state today. Something to ponder about.
