Great for bass
If you’re a bass player seeking a perfect blend of tube screamer sass with a light touch of germanium fuzz and warm overdrive, this is your pedal. It achieves a very nice blend of bite and fuzz without going too harsh or soft. Seriously, if you’re looking for a well-rounded OFD sound that retains the low end without letting it make the distortion sound too “bass-heavy,” you can’t pass up this pedal, especially at this price!

Such a Wonderful BM
This bad boy holds its own on a bass pedalboard amongst many other more expensive OFD pedals. It sounds great coupled solely with my Orange Twin Stroke boosting it into the bass riffage stratosphere. But where my Monkey really shines is stacked up in various combos with my SA Aftershock, Blues Driver, Titefuzz, warping my chorus/flanger, and also when I crank my 2 Stroke into true OD territory. This wouldn’t be the only OFD pedal on my bass board only because, well, there will never only be one. This isn’t freaking Highlander. And also because I tend to favor pedals that crank toward extremes. But this baby is my super glue, the one I throw into the mix to tie a screaming tube into a deep, echoey chorus or when I want a heavy fuzz growl to clamp down with some face shredding bite.

Amazing Practice Amp
1 of 1 found this helpful I never thought I’d review a practice amp but, true to the nature Orange products, this baby is very much in a league of its own. It’s the best sounding practice amp I’ve ever heard. I can keep it low enough to let the neighbors sleep peacefully but crank it loud enough to wake the dead - both without losing the excellent tonal quality this amp produces. I also put my guitar through it, just for kicks, and that sounded great too! I really can’t believe I’m writing a gushing review over a practice amp but I guess I should have expected that with an Orange. I love their tone and their unique “loud factor” and this amp delivers both in a tiny 25w package.
