    Back when I started doing Punk back in 1979, we were all about being "real," and "authentic," and "of the people." Somewhere in the magical ocean of the 80s, that turned into "dress it up! Two words: Jemaine Clement. Nuff said?
When I first saw this film years ago, I hated it. I mean really hated it. But then, a few months later, I saw a weird little scene on YouTube that is sort of a companion piece to the film, with just Jemaine, and it was so unabashedly awesome that I gave "GB" another chance. Now I show it everyone who I can make sit down in front of my TV watch it. And guess what? The vast majority of them love it! Director Jared hess ("Napoleon Dynamite," "Nacho Libre") is admittedly an acquired taste, but I think I'm finally getting acclimated to his sense of humor. And of course, it also has Sam Rockwell in it as a THE freakiest tranny spaceman. Good times.

Highly underrated Superhero fare
Consider this film the bridge between traditional, square-jawed, caped crusaders with superhuman powers, and the magnificent "Deadpool." Great writing, direction, and acting, with a killer story and style.
