Kingkong RC Jiefang CA-30/ZIL-157 radio-controlled kit
KKRC CA-30/ZIL-157 is an excellent kit with many improvements over the previous KKRC CA-10/ZIS-150 kit. The biggest improvement is that more allowance has been made for the installation of the electronic; now, there is a tool box provided to hold the battery, and the bed can be easily holed to make way for the battery lead. It's a very good quality kit, well worth the price. However, in my opinion, it suffer from a lack of realism for a scale model:
The spare wheel is missing and has been replaced with a second petrol tank that does not exist on either a CA-30 or ZIL-157. The rear flatbed is lacking the folding benches of the CA-30/ZIL-157. The front bumper is the one of a CA-10/ZIS-150 and doesn't look like a CA-30 bumper. Just like the KKRC CA-10, the windshield wipers are not like the real truck.
Some parts that should have been included with the kit are missing, like the chains and hooks to hold the rear door of the bed closed, as well as the spare wheel and support already mentioned
Also, I personally don't like the new way of fixing the wheels, despite its cleverness, as it makes it impossible to replace the wheels with custom ones (to try to represent a ZIS-151 with double tires rear wheels),
An other issue I can see is that the rear view mirrors are made in the same fragile plastic material as the CA-10/ZIS-150, and they will most likely not survive long. The same can be said of the protective grills of the front lights: they'll not survive a collision, as they're also made of brittle plastic instead of a more supple material that would resist some rough handling.
Despite theses minor shortcomings, the kit is very well done and high quality, and has many improvements over the previous ZIS-150 kit (the main one for me being that the front grill has been modified to accommodate a bit more easily the wiring of the front wheels servo, and will not need heavy modification to make room for the electrical wire.
Some improvements I would suggest to KKRC: please provide a separate kit(s) to give us a spare wheel holder with spare wheel, an optional kit to have the rounded front wheels fenders of the ZIL-157. Give us also the wider original front bumper of the ZIL-157. Replacing the front light grills and rear-view mirrors with a more resilient and supple rubber material would be a must.
I would be good to release a canvas cover kit for the rear bed. A rear tow hook is available in option and can be purchased separately to allow the use of trailers.
Overall a very good kit of high quality, despite a few shortcomings, I highly recommend it.

KKRC CA-10/CA-30 tow hook.
Excellent scale tow hook with a clever system to lock and unlock it. A very nice optional upgrade for either the CA-10 or CA-30 trucks
