If you are buying this tape from reinkco, BEWARE!
6 of 7 found this helpful This tape is NOT 2.0 mil! I have rolls of 2.0 here and these were over 1/8" smaller in diameter. They look to be 1.7 mil or less! VERY disappointing that eBay allows reinkco to continue selling this tape!

One of the best pro decks ever!
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a truly remarkable and durable deck, as a 3-head deck it really doesn't belong in their 112 series. Tascam even compares it to their 122 MKIII, one of the best decks ever made! While it doesn't have some of the extra bells & whistles like tone oscillators or bias adjustment, it does have auto-reverse, auto tape-type detection, pitch control and the best Dolby available at the time, which includes their HX Pro Headroom Extension! I got mine with the Balanced XLR module installed so I can use balanced signals. But more important, with a real professional refurb (not just a new belt), it is hands-down the most reliable workhorse ever made, and there is no reason it won't for last years of continuous use!
