Am not sure if item is new as described as it had a small piece of the casing missing and no makers box or instructions. However if it works o .k. It was low priced. I will try it and see. Regards, D Gadd.

Vango Fibreglass Pole Set 12.7Mm - Tent Spares
    Mar 06, 2019
    Replacement fibreglass tent pole sections
These come complete in a plastic wallet, together with threading elastic and a long piece of wire to act as a threader "needle" as well as a spare metal ferrule (outer pole joint for the first pole section. Hints to repair poles: Make sure your repair pieces are the same width as the existing - they won't fit together otherwise! Where possible undo the end of your existing elastic and disassemble the existing pole to just beyond the damaged section. The elastic can be reused unless it has lost its stretch or is broken. Make sure all the ferrules, old and new are the same length - longer ones can be cut down, but only by half of the difference in ferrule length; then cut the new poles down to match the length of existing ones - this gives a nice evenness to the poles when folded. They can be cut with a hacksaw. When retthreading the poles, start with the double ferruled pole - this will mean that all the others are threaded from their fibreglass end, rather than the metal sleeve - it is much easier to insert the wire needle that way. Thread just one section at a time. Have a bit of tension on the elastic thread and tie it off with a double or triple knot.
    Vintage optimus camping stove
    Oct 02, 2020
    Reliable piece of kit.
This type of paraffin pressure stove was designed over 100 years ago and remains a capable stove even in modern times. Paraffin (Kerosene) is a readily available fuel from hardware, garden and DIY suppliers. Stove parts like seals and pump leathers can be sourced from dedicated suppliers across the globe. Easily lost parts are being remade as well. The Optimus 00 has a proper replaceable jet and burner assembly and a tank that holds about 1/2 litre of fuel. Once serviced, it would be a reliable stove for camping, hiking, cycling, or anywhere where heated food or water are required "on the go". Servicing requires no specialist skills and few special tools. I keep one in the car along with water, some dried foods etc. at this time of year, just in case we get stranded in winter storms, floods or through mechanical breakdown. Compact and lightweight. Cheap enough to buy and use. Fuel almost universally available. Blasts out heat. What's not to love about them?
Vango Shockcord Roll 2.5mm Black One Size
    Oct 03, 2018
Does exactly what it says on the label!
A thin shock cord which is ideal for re-cording thinner grade flexible tent poles. I used a long piece of steel wire, twisted over at one end to form an eye, as a bodkin to thread it through the pole sections. It needs to be under a light tension when finished. TIP: Start threading from the pole section with the double end - that way it is easier th theread the remaining sections as you thread directly into the hole in the fibreglass rod, rather than fishing for it from a mettalcollar! Don't forget to tie the ends off with a double knot.
