Not Compatible with 2018 Outback
While it was easy to get this in the mail, and it came quick, the Subaru dealer has to program the key to match the car (only four devices are enabled at any one time). These key fobs will open the car door and turn the ignition, but without the dealer's programming, the car will not start. Unfortunately, none of the fob buttons will work and the alarm will sound until the engine starts.
So, it was a good financial value, but I cannot use any of the fob buttons and the alarm activates every time I use them. I guess this makes for a good backup key, but not good for everyday use.
Now plan B.
