Rammstein
So glad to hear these guys back on record after such a long absence. It took a few listens before it really clicked with me. First I caught myself singing the chorus of Was Ich Liebe, after another few listens, the same thing with Radio & Ausländer, then later Tattoo & Zeig Dich. The anthemic and concise choruses reeled me in, then I found myself liking more and more of the album. Like the hard-driving Deutschland, the groovy Depeche Mode-like jam of Sex, the spacey, yet plodding Weit Weg and the sweet & serene Diamant. Then it all came together for me and I was finally able to appreciate it as a true Rammstein album. It’s a grower, for sure, but I can liken the experience to reuniting with an old friend after a decades long absence; Sure, some things are different now, but the more time you spend with them the more you realize they’re the same person you’ve always known, they’re just better at being (and more comfortable with) who they’ve always been now.

Perfect Jeans
