To call this a zoom camera is very misleading.
If you are buying this camera for the zoom function, be advised that it isn't optical zoom. It can only do digital zoom which quickly degrades the video output.
The default optical focus is so distant you will need the zoom function to frame your video to the point where any detail is achieved. So overall you lose the advantage of the 1080P.
I can say I was disappointed and cannot recommend it to anyone who is expecting the camera to perform well when trying to get close up video.

Almost a great camera
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased five of the FI9928P cameras over the past year or so. Unfortunately one of them has recently failed. It will not power up at all. The power supply has been tested on other cameras so I am sure the problem is isolated to being in the camera itself. Until this recent problem I have been very happy with them. The performance and ease of setup is very good. One negative is that I had to quit using Firefox and now use Pale Moon exclusively for the FI9928P cameras because of issues with IPC Web Components plugin no longer being compatible with them in Firefox and in later versions of Pale Moon.
This has been a long time known problem and Foscam still hasn't come up with an acceptable fully working solution. If you have more than one Foscam camera their app software will not allow you show multiple cameras in one window. Pale Moon version 37.3.0 still allows you to display multi cameras but the newer versions will not. While this is very annoying I still like the camera. I hope that someday soon a real solution is found that will permit me to use Firefox with them again.
As long as you are aware of the compatibility issue and willing to do as I am "putting up with it" I would recommend the FI9928P. As for the failure of the one camera, I hope that it was only a fluke and not something that is likely to happen again. I have owned many other model Foscam cameras and only one other had a failure. While not overly alarming I can only hope those problems are behind me.
