Functional and inexpensive
The P-Touch label maker which this adapter serves is a Handheld and battery operated. Attaching a Handheld to a power line seems to defeat the purpose of having a handheld. However, the functionality of this adapter is that it allows one to finish a task/project when the batteries fail -- which they'll do at an inappropriate time -- without having to stop to find/buy replacement batteries.

Effective and Economical
Mr. Coffee provided an effective way to purify the water you use for brewing coffee or tea by creating a coffee maker with a self-contained, replaceable filter. Using the filters makes for a consistent water supply quality. Since each filter yields a month of use, which becomes a $0.03 per day cost, this much more economical than any other filtering method unless you're filtering the entire water supply into your residence.
