I've been researching a lot on Islam and Ali's name comes up over and over again. She tells her story in a captivating style, with eloquent and insightful descriptions of growing up in a Muslim household. There are sad parts and even parts that made me shudder, yet I got the feeling that she's happy and at peace with herself.
Her main idea is that Islam itself is to blame for a lot of the problems in our world today - and that only by introspection and self-critique will Islam come out of the Dark Ages into the modern world.
Excellent, excellent reading.

New Hitachi UB18D 14.4V to 18 Volt Torchlight Flashlight Pivoting Head Cordless

bought this to replace a dewalt flashlight, love the hitachi
Very bright, works with the hitachi 18v batteries, the only thing is the head seems a little loose/wobbly - I bought 2 of these, both have the same issue. Was told it's not a defect, just a design flaw. Doesn't really affect the use, so I'm not concerned.

Fantastic phone, excellent features - too bad the battery is not removable.
Initially, I bought a Google Nexus phone (was first choice), but the Nexus doesn't have wi-fi calling. The HTC One is is an excellent high-end phone, with all the features I need. The Icons on the menu bar are customizable, (for example, each one can be a 'folder' having 4 icons, so if you use 2 different browsers, they can both occupy the same icon space).
Another feature I like a lot is that the google search is not built into the screes, as is with the Nexus.
One thing I wish was different is the battery - I wish it was removable. With other phones, you can take the battery out every once in a while to clear out everything. With the One S, the battery is built it. So if the battery goes, it's an expensive fix.
All in all, the phone is excellent.
