Looks Beautiful, Works Great

The mounting kit was a perfect fit for my 1987 Dodge B250. The same kit will fit several different vehicles and the instructions with the kit tell you which tabs to remove for each application. I used a small hack saw so as to get a good edge where the tabs were removed. The wiring harness adapter was a perfect match for my cars' original electrical connectors. The colors of the adapter's wires matched the connector wires supplied for the Sony radio. I soldered the connections and insulated them with heat shrink tubing. At that point all I had to do was slip in the radio sleeve, slip in the radio and then make the electrical and antenna connections. The radio came with a small microphone for hands free calling. This kit would probably work with most other brands of DIN sized radios. I really like the Sony radio that I chose.

Easy System Addition

This smoke detector was a perfect addition to my Ademco Vista 20 alarm panel. Programming was easy, just follow your manual for adding another wireless zone. Two things to note: I defeated the little plastic stop that drops into the notch when you twist the unit onto its base. This will make it easier to remove the overhead unit for a battery change or cleaning. Also make sure you put your monitoring service into test mode when you dismount the unit for any reason. Because it is a fire alarm, it will instantly trigger when the tamper switch gets thrown because you removed the unit.
