6 of 6 found this helpful This is a smoke detector designed to be used in a more than one alarm system. This requires a professional installation of its basic interconnect system. Once set up these detectors can all go off together, one sensor activates all the alarms. No sleeping through an alarm. Only down side if one has a false alarm they all go off. But this can be good too. One unit could be having trouble and it lets you know its time to clean or change one or all the alarms.
The date of manufacture is on the back near the expected service time the unit.
These units come with a hood. If you are doing something that could cause a lot of dust or smoke that will set off the alarm the hood masked the sensors and no false alarm. No need to disconnect or unplug the units.

using a multi lead switch
The switch does not come with any diagram or marks to tell you the switch arrangement. Even with experience you may want to check the current path before wiring it into your electric system.
