Easy install
This is a quick & easy install as long as you have the 5 push-in plastic fasteners. You have to temporarily disconnect the windshield washer hoses. Takes 10 minutes and does quiet the engine sounds.

Makita is a great value!
I have had several miter saws over the years -- Delta's and Porter Cable's. For the money you can't beat Makita. I used it to cut crown and base molding and was very impressed with the quality of the cuts with the stock blade as well as the precision of the mechanism. I took some time to tweak the factory setup to make it cut dead-on (always a good idea to check the setup before you start your project). I love the slow start feature -- makes it easy to get the blade when you want it on the piece without worrying about the jump of the start-up torque of other saws. Highly recommend!

Fit my purpose exactly!
1 of 1 found this helpful I needed a storage system that I could easily access and would fit in my closet. The Halifax was the right cabinet at the right price. Assembly required some skill and attention to detail. The instructions were mostly pictures of what should be done at each assembly step. So, you have to study the drawings carefully otherwise you can easily get things upside down and then have to disassemble and start over. The laminate finish is thin and tends to be fragile, typical of this price class. I used some carpenter's glue when parts were screwed/doweled into the chipboard for extra strength. You will use every screw and piece of hardware so count before you start and let the company know of something is missing (or something is damaged). There is a form for ordering parts in the instructions but I didn't need to use it. I'm happy with the product. I wish it were solid wood but such a piece might be 3-4 times the price!
