however, it gets quite messy (especially with slightly wilder cats, who throw the litter around when shoveling it), and harder to clean and maintain with 4 adult cats: takes a while longer to train them to adapt to this new concept, and makes the owner keep track of things every time they use it, especially if one wishes to maintain cleanliness+re-encouraging treats upon success.
