This is a great starter mandolin,Oscar Schmidt/Wasburn Company have been around a long time. THIS IS A WELL MADE AND GREAT SOUNDING Mandolin.Like any string instument out of the box,you will have to get a proper set-up.Truss-rod adjustment,Bridge placement,and string to fret height adjustment are good for starters.I bought this mainly for background recording and it does the job.
