Microsoft KIN TwoM: Not as bad as the naysayers would have you think.
3 of 3 found this helpful The KIN TwoM has gotten some bad reviews, but I found out that these were mostly unfounded. Apparently, when some people can't figure out how to use a device on their own, they assume what they're trying to do isn't possible. If 75% of the people who gave this phone a bad review would have just read the user manual the phone wouldn't have gotten such a bad reputation.
The KIN has everything I wanted: threaded messaging, an excellent camera (8mp), QWERTY board, good call quality, WIFI w/no data plan and a responsive touchscreen. Two things I read in bad reviews about this phone are true: 1)you have to use the preloaded ringtones and 2)there are no games and you currently cannot download any. This wasn't a deal breaker for me at all. The provided ringtones really aren't that bad and if I want to play games that badly, I can just hop on the wifi.
An odd thing that needs mentioning is that the KIN cannot support .gif files. Weird. So a lot of my wallpapers I loaded had to be converted to .jpg first, but that's not too big of a hassle. In order to transfer videos, pictures, and music you MUST use ZUNE and a datacable. That's the only way. Zune isn't a bad program though. I had never used it and was able to navigate it quickly. There's no document viewer on this phone, so if you want to read ebooks, the only way I've found is to email yourself a copy/pasted version of a .txt or .rtf file and get on the wifi.
Overall, this phone suits all my needs and I'm more satisfied than I thought I would be. Plus, having wifi without forking over $30/month to Verizon is a sweet bonus.

Great fountain for small animals!
I replaced my Drinkwell with the Pioneer stainless fountain because the Drinkwell is made of plastic and harbors mold and bacteria. The Pioneer fountain is SO easy to clean! The replacement filters are cheap on Ebay. My cats love this fountain and have been drinking more water because of it. It's great for diabetic cats or cats with kidney disorders. Also great for ferrets, small dogs, and any pets that love fresh, running water. I recommend using distilled water in jugs if you have hard tap water. The calcium deposits will stain the fountain and gunk up the motor. Excellent product!
