2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this to replace my aging, but wonderful (and rooted) Galaxy S3. At first glance, the S3 and G2 are almost the same size, but the screen size on the G2 is definitely a step up. Out of the box, the phone comes with neat features, like "Double Tap" to turn the phone on, (or off if you double tap the notification bar). Set correctly and the phone will turn itself on when you pick it up. Rooting the device, (like I did) will ultimately allow you to remove the bloatware that comes from your carrier. This particular G2 is model D802 meaning it is an AT&T unlocked phone. Thus it can be used with any GSM carrier that uses a SIM card, (ie T-Mobile, Straight Talk, and AT&T etc...)I am currently using Cricket. The phone is a real joy to have. Feels great in your hand. Just still trying to get used to the volume up/down keys on the BACK! Battery life is pretty good in comparison to my S3. Really a great phone. Can't say enough about it!!!
