Black Diamond Index Ascender Review

In a field full of products with basically similar mechanisms, the Black Diamond Index Ascender has distinguished itself by arranging the cam release in a way that it can be accessed with an index finger as well the usual thumb access. For those who inchworm their way down the way they went up, this is a nice convenience. I didn't try it with thick winter gloves, but the index finger mechanism worked well enough with bare hands. I tried it with 11.4mm rope and everything went smoothly. I tried it with 8mm and again it worked fine, but it worried me just a bit that the outer teeth were not getting as good a bite as with larger rope. I'm happy with the purchase.

Tekton 3576 Snap Ring Pliers Set

After struggling with a cheap set of pliers with interchangeable tips, I found these to be a great improvement. They give me a solid grip without flexing under the stress.

Vortex 30mm Riflescope Ring - Medium

I had previously used a different height Vortex ring on another scope, so I was confident that when I purchased this, it would be sturdy. I was not disappointed. It was a little more expensive than I would like, but I didn't want to risk buying something else that I might not like.
