Designed and engineered for everyday riding.
It seems like too many times, the search for a bit of extra performance leads to compromise in everyday riding enjoyment and reliability. We recently purchased a beautiful used Iron 883, and the previous owner installed an aftermarket air cleaner and exhaust system - both were top dollar mods. I suspect that the fuel injection wasn't remapped to accommodate the changes, causing a noticeable dip in the torque curve at lower rpms. Finding and installing a stock air cleaner cured the issue without having to also go to a stock exhaust. Didn't feel any slower, despite going back to the factory air cleaner.
Stock air cleaner assembly is a guaranteed fit, designed to work well with a stock motor and has easily replaceable parts. Styling depends on your personal taste. Could performance gains be seen by replacing it? Yes, but see the opening comments.
