Sony Playstation 3 - More than just a gaming system
12 of 18 found this helpful There's a lot of mixed reviews floating around the internet about the new Sony Playstation 3, and for good reason. At launch, the PS3 has not shown immense improvements over the year older XBOX 360 in terms of games and graphics. In addition, launch titles are lax. Couple that with the hefty price tag and you're bound to get sour reviews.
But Sony has always thought into the future, and for good reason. The Playstation and the Playstation 2 have become the greatest gaming successes in all time due to this philosophy, and gamers have benefited from Sony's foresight. As with its predecessors, the Playstation 3 will start slow; with average games and a hefty price tag. However, as always, game developers will eventually take advantage of the truly superior hardware the PS3 provides. The Cell engine and BluRay drive provides so much potential that in a year or two PS3 games will truly represent the future of gaming with 1080p Super HiDefinition graphics guaranteed to satisfy and astound gamers in the upcoming years.
Unbeknownst to most, the true strength of the PS3 is in its versatility. Sure it will become the future of console gaming, but it will also become the future of home entertainment. The PS3's inherent extreme high definition outputs with optical 7.1 sound will allow users to truly take advantage of the HD revolution. With its DVD and BluRay capabilities, the PS3 will not be sequestered solely for gaming like the XBOX or Wii, but will become a staple of technology within any household.
So, should you go out and buy a PS3 this year? Perhaps and Perhaps not. The PS3 will start slow, so it might make sense to hold out until it becomes established. But if you want to be at the cutting edge of technology with BluRay capabilities under $1000 (as future BluRay players are slated to be well over $1000), then why wait. However, if you are looking for the Ultimate entertainment gift for yourself or for that _extremely_ lucky special someone, look no further. The Sony Playstation 3 in all its iterations will be a gift that they will thank you for not this Christmas, but for future Christmas' to come. . . if you can get your hands on one before Christmas.
*note* Sony has failed dramatically to meet shipping targets worldwide, it is confirmed that Sony has failed to ship less than 50% of the slated 400,000 units to North America, making it almost impossible to obtain a PS3 anywhere. Best of Luck finding one for this Holiday season.

Good replacement part, save your wheels replacement for later.
Works as expected. Right description. Difficult to install as one would imagine for such a specific part.
