Not just a Japanese version of GTA
I rarely have time for game and most game I can't even finished it, like GTA. Don't get me wrong, GTA is alot of fun but there are just so much you can do. It's the same case for Yakuza 3 as well but the fight scenes kept it very interesting. I like the old school Double Dragon, Final Fight type of of simple-but-yet-satisfying fight and that's what Yakuza 3 has. The many finishing moves along with pretty good AI makes the game fun to play. At certain point you are almost playing it just to fight, without all the driving/flying/diving fun/distraction. I spent about 3 hours every day for 2 weeks and finished the story mode, but only at a 55% completion rate. Still have some more life to it. With all the pros, Yakuza 3 also has alot of shortcominig. It could get repetitive and some story might be just plain silly. The map is pretty limited and many times there is no way to quit a cut scene or middle of the game, other than going back to the PS3 menu. Overall I would say the game is a worthy experience.
