JT Eaton 425 Wind-Up Live Multiple Catch Mouse Trap with Clear Inspection

Caught a lot of mice for me :)

I needed to catch a lot of mice to feed an orphaned owl family. A friend loaned me an older model of this trap. She said that it had caught five mice the first time she set it, but never any after that. What I discovered, was that I needed to clean the trap with soap and water after each catch. Then it worked great. I have bought 5 of them and they all work great. Solid construction. Here are a few reasons I didn't give it 5 stars. A mouse chewed through the plastic view window. I love the window, but perhaps it could me mirrored so the mice don't see it as a possible opening. Also, the instructions ought to state that the spring should not be turned more than 7 times to work effectively. And, some mice do get killed in it. They try to get out the hole they came in, and the spring catches them. The most serious problem, though, is the difficulty in sliding the top off to release the mice. It's just too tight. Otherwise it is a great product!
