I wish I saw these years ago
These things are awesome for prototyping efforts where you don't want to solder up connectors to various power supplies or test equipment. They connect tightly, the electrical connections are solid and will become a staple of my electrical connector stock.

Furuno makes solid gear, dependable even when it's used.
Furuno makes rock-solid products. This unit replaced another unit, but it turns out that my problem was a bad switch and not the sat weather unit. Both this and my existing unit work well, even for something that was made over ten years ago. I guess that's why the used Furuno market remains strong.

Great but brittle
PROS: These Hall effect current sensors work great within the current range you're measuring. They seem to exhibit great linearity and the resolution of the analog output is more than sufficient for most needs.
CONS: I don't like screw terminals for trying to pass up to 20A of power through this. If you're measuring heavier gauge cables (i.e. 12-2 solid copper) then you can easily break the terminals or their solder connection. Since the power has to pass through these terminals, you're left with deciding whether or not to use intermediate thinner gauge cabling to make the connection or working with the gauge you have. In my application, I ran my load through terminal blocks from which I connected heavy gauge stranded cable to these terminals. The stranded cable was flexible enough to fit into the terminals and not over-stress them too much.
BTW: Most of these sensors are delivered with the terminals not soldered to the board. It's a simple enough to solder the through-hole pins, though.
