Pretty decent grip but sent with non-decoded batteries
1 of 1 found this helpful The battery grip is good - but it does require a cable (included) but which is not shown in any of the listing's photos - which is why I bought this in the first place - it didn't appear to need the cable to the camera, but sadly, it does.
That said, it works fine, you just have a cable that could easily become unhooked in the heat or excitement of fast shooting.
And when I used Vivitar or Canon batteries (NOT INCLUDED) it registers the charge remaining in the grip's batteries.
BUT the included off-brand batteries are not decoded for the camera. That means that the camera requires you to say "NO THESE ARE NOT CANON BATTERIES" and while they seem to work ok, the camera does not tell you how much charge is remaining. I'm very disappointed in that aspect.
If they'd send it with Vivitar or Canon or other decoded batteries, it would be a much more worthwhile package. The included batteries are an OK backup, as long as they go on freshly charged and you won't be using them all day long without knowing when they're running low. But definitely not for use as your primary batteries. Bummed.

Great image quality but USM motor is audible
1 of 1 found this helpful This is my first experience with a USM lens. It was really amazing to work with. The image quality is great, it's very fast to autofocus - faster than the EF-S lenses I have. I wanted to upgrade from replace my ancient 70-300mm EF without image stabilization because it was slow to autofocus) - This lens is several steps up in all areas. Can't wait to use it for birds and other wildlife.
My only negative is that the image stabilizer motor definitely makes an audible noise - so it's a drawback for video work. Hence the 4-stars instead of 5.

Great price for a bodhran!
The drum has a nice sound, is of good workmanship, and a great value for the price!
