From an imperfect but criminally underrated tabletop game
To echo what I've written before, I wish this game hadn't been rushed, underpromoted, and finally dropped by FFG. It promised to scratch the wargaming itch without altogether consuming your private life (unlike current franchises), and is genuinely fun, if suffering from a seemingly rushed final development.

As I wrote on a companion product, I wish this game hadn't been rushed, underpromoted, and inevitably dropped by a company pivoting to more commercially visible IPs. It promised to scratch the wargaming itch without altogether consuming your private life (unlike currently dominant franchises), and the game is genuinely fun, if suffering from its seemingly rushed final development.

A mix of highs and lows, but definitely skewing high
I took a risk on this after seeing so many positive reviews, and I must admit I'm pleasantly surprised. The glass is typical for a modern, budget-conscious LPVO in that it has a very subtle haziness to it, but it is nonetheless bright and, more impressively, relatively flat. I would tentatively describe it as neatly splitting the difference between the Tango MSR (with its phenomenally flat center but heavily distorted edges) and SLx Gen IV (which has a clean FOV but suffers a disruptive level of "swim"). A happy medium, if you will. The reticle is also quite nice, small enough not to dominate the image yet intuitive and informative enough for most practical applications, albeit lacking some of the now-common supplements. The illumination is likewise admirable. The eyebox on 1x is just kind of average, but under magnification it's remarkably forgiving, so it gets good marks from me.
My one issue is with the controls. While I absolutely love its modular, paddle-style throw lever, the magnifier ring is still both very stiff and slightly long, probably at least a 200-degree throw, which makes manipulation slower and more distracting than most. (I'll allow that it makes a good thumb rest when using the scope as an improvised grip, though.) I also don't care for the canted position of the illumination dial, which I likewise find a bit awkward to use. I do like that all texture has been removed from the focus ring, however, since that alleviates most concerns of it getting dragged out of position. LPVOs seldom need refocusing, after all, although I'm sure some users will want to disagree on that point.
Anyway, I'd say the RT-6 remains a great value in its category.
