Aftermarket water valve
I spent a good two hours trying to attach hot and cold water hoses onto this Robert Shaw water valve. The plastic hose connection end is made of a softer plastic than the OEM part and easily cross threads and/or poorly connects until you bottom out the fitting using two rubber washers.
The Robert Shaw locates each valve strainer/screen at the start of the hose connection whereas the OEM strainer/screen is inset. The cost of the Robert Shaw is fair, but next time I'll go for the OEM water valve.
