It works, but there are other alternatives which may be just as effective for cheaper

I used this EDTA because it was recommended by Stihl for use in their 4Mix engines. These are prone to carbon build up problems and mine, despite factory recommended oils and maintenance, had really bad carbon deposits in the combustion chamber and valves. I tore down the engine and soaked the cylinder/head/valves and piston for 24hrs. It did dissolve some of the carbon and softened up what was left, so that it could be scraped off. I am not sure Stihl makes this anymore. It is very hard to find. This seller's price was very reasonable. But for the price, I think Seafoam or Berryman's B12 would be just as effective. I plan to do a comparison.
