Simple fix!
After numerous tries to pair the new remote with the Hunter fan, I had to succumb to technical support by Hunter. They were extremely helpful and were able to resolve the issue within one minute. A simple additional step in the troubleshooting guide would have avoided a lot of aggravation. She had me remove the battery cover and press a toggle button inside the remote. That resolved issue immediately. That information is nowhere to be found in the notes. Such a simple thing, I guess there has to be a reason to call Hunter.
