Confident on the trails
I am 60 year old female-height 6'2' and weight 170 lbs. I have cast on from the knee to toes and I am non-weight bearing. I purchased this because I coach XC running and need a scooter for outside.
I have a standard indoor knee scooter upstairs and that is much easier to handle and the steering is quicker.
The outdoor scooter works well on the road and gravel trails I have to be on. I can go uphill but you need to be cautious of how steep the downhill is. The brake is adequate, but it was not made to be on steep downhills. I have also gone on the uneven grass, but you have to be much more cautious of the tipping factor. The turning radius is much wider but very doable for outside. It is heavy to lift in the car by myself-but I am tall and can do it.
I have good balance and strength, and I am also a physical therapist so I know what to watch out for. This has been nice to get outdoors-the standard scooter would not handle the roads as smoothly or safely.
If you do not have good balance-you should be cautious on any knee scooter. Try an indoor one first before spending this kind of money and find you don't have the balance or strength.
I added the sheepskin and extra padding because the cast was rubbing on the knee pad.
