Sturdy and capable

This lift is very capable and well made. I am using it for erecting a metal barn with rafter and purlins that weigh from 70 to 600 lbs. elevating to 23 feet. It feels sturdy and works very well in this application. Note: It does not come with the guide wire assemblies to raise above 18 feet. This will require a trip to the hardware for chain, cable , hooks and clamps.

Good value and quality device

Good product for scaffold and mobile devices where medium distance movements are needed. This device is reasonable in weight and does not overly restrict movement.

Original earlier design - GOOD

This item is the earlier type Schaller product. It is more compact, uses a hex nut clamp bolt and has the pin outer diameter machined properly to fin in the peg receiving hole diameter without binding and unscrewing the peg. I have a set of the newer Schaller design which someone in the Schaller design department must have been asleep. To use the newer design with the lock ring and screw, I needed to counter bore the peg hole on a drill press, to a larger diameter to fit the lock pin without binding. Not fun. Also the new design is unnecessarily bigger which feels and looks clumsy. Buy this item in the original design configuration and you will be much happier.
