Kato quality in a turntable, what more do you need. You do not need to cut a hole in your layout to set this turntable in. You can if you want, but it is designed to be able to sit right on top of your layout and that's exactly how mine is set up. You can also set it up for DCC if you wish.

Impressive and Unique Kit
I was very impressed with the quality of this kit. Instructions left a bit to be desired, but all the pictures of the tug helped with the placement of some of the details. Fitting were made out of a strong resin and the fiberglass hull is great. To bend some of the wood, soak the wood in very hot water and then slowly bend the wood. It will bend easily when you do this and if you don’t do this you will bust the wood if you try to bend it otherwise. Overall, very happy with this kit. It does take time to build, so don’t expect to have it done right away.
