Had to re-copy all files
0 of 1 found this helpful After copying all the files I wanted to back up to the seagate ultra slim drive I thought everything was going well. However, after trying to read all the files back again I encountered a number of errors. Some of the files could be read and others not.
I ran the command line chkdsk which reported a number of bad blocks. Further research online showed a number of other people encountering the same problem with the seagate ultra slim. This appears to be a general product defect and/or quality control issue with seagate.
So, in short, you believe that you have backed up everything but in the future when you need to access your files you will find out that you cannot.
