Good Value for the Price Point
Besides liking the fact the EarPods don't protrude hardly at all from the ears and the fact that the audio sound quality is good, I thought I would write down the functions available for perspective buyers to consider:
1) Action: Right Ear button [R] + Left Ear button [L] click = toggle pickup/hang up in call mode;
2) R + L with a 2 secs press = reject call in call mode;
3) R + L with a 3 secs press = power up EarPods;
4) R + L with a 5 secs press = power down EarPods;
5) R or L click = toggle play/pause in standby or play modes;
6) R with a 2 secs press = next song;
7) L with a 2 secs press = previous song;
8) L double-click = Increase Volume;
9) R double-click = decrease volume;
10) R triple-click = start Siri or Google Assistant;
11) L triple-click = redial last call in call log.
I like the fact that the carrier case doubles as a powerbank which can recharge the EarPods in 1 hour on-the-go. Charged EarPods come with 2.5 hours of play time or 3 hours of voice time along with 80 hours of standby time. The PowerBank seems to be able to recharge the EarPods several times on-the-go.
One feature that might come in handy to extend battery-use time while on-th-go, is the fact that one can connect only the Right EarPod or the other Left EarPod at a time while leaving the other EarPod powered down. Using one EarPod at a time instead of both at the same time means that the 2.5 hour play time per EarPod can enable over 10+ hours of play time by just relying on recharging the unused EarPod with the built-in powerbank while using the other EarPod - all without needing to plug in the USB recharge cable if one does not have a USB power source easily at hand.
Please note that the unit does not come with a USB power charger plug, only a USB-to-micro-USB recharge cable that plugs into the back of the EarPod case which doubles as a powerbank charge unit for the EarPods.
The one other complaint I had was the user manual whose print was so small that one needs a magnifier glass to read it! Paper is so cheap, why not use a font-size that is readable instead of 4 point size!? The savings in paper is not worth the customer frustration. I will say the English version of the Manual was much better grammatically than most Chinese produced manuals. If you don't read English or Chinese you are out of luck.
