Alpine SPR-60C 2-Way 6.5" Car Speakers System
Dec 15, 2015
Found What I was looking for!!
1 of 2 found this helpful These speakers were put into a 2000 Honda Accord front doors and dash. Door install was a bit challenging. Remove all old speaker mounts. I used one of the adapters to mount these. This gives barely enough room for window operation. I used the adapter with 3 holes to screw to the door hole with self taper screws. Then write which wire goes where for future reference for amplifier polarity install.
The tweeters were more challenging. Installed into old tweeter location. Remove old tweeter ,try to save gasket, cut wires close to tweet, remove from grill. New tweet, remove screw for housing, take apart gently, and use old gasket and 3 hole mount from old tweet mount. assemble to grill. mount should tilt tweet away from windshield a bit.
Tricky part now, put crossover box in the fuse holder door, fishing wires up thru the dash. :) Have fun with this one.
The sound is very good quality. SPR69 in the rear deck. 6x9 were a piece of cake. youtube rear speaker grill removal.
I installed a pioneer GM-D9500F 4 channel amp for 75watt rms per channel. This rocks these speakers well. The sound Quality is astounding! The bass is very present! If you don't want tons of sub bass then this should do it for you. But it is also a good set up for an added sub woofer system. I would say possibly support up to a 1000 watt rms sub system.
My deck is a Kenwood KDC BT955HD. This deck gives many adjustments you can make to each channel along with 7band eq. I found this system didnt need much tuning cause the speaker system does a very good job on its own. 4v pre-outputs tickle the amps to really sound out for you.
Hope this review helps in your purchase.
