Both Convincing and Convicting!
This was my first of my Visual Bible purchases, and the one I've watched most often, it should have worn out long ago. When that happens, I'll buy another copy. I have maybe 25 Bible movies because they are my favorite genre. This one has never been displaced from its #1 position on my list.
Cusick's "Jesus" seems nearly perfect. A sensitive and very layered performance, I can only assume that Cusick was familiar with the Jesus of the Bible (unlike Sisto and Marchiano), so from His tender indulgence of His thick-as-plank apostles, His patience with Nicodemus, His anger toward the Temple leadership, to His mounting rage flashing first from His eyes, to His face, and finally in the destruction of the circus atmosphere of the courtyard of His Father's temple, it all works together marvelously.
Cusick's performance makes Jesus look every bit as appealing as His Biblical accounts. He is a man, but more than man; He is God in the flesh, condescending to Earth to be our greatest Teacher, examples, and Redeemer. Cusick misses none of this!
One caveat if you're among the KJVO crowd: You will probably be put off by the GNB word-for-word script, but I hope you'll overcome such human horror and give this movie a well-deserved chance. We miss none of Christ's claims to Deity, as evidenced by the enmity He evokes in the self righteous Jews of His day.
Christopher Plummer's narration sounds reverent and convincing, and every actor involved gives a most believable performance. Watch for the apostle John's facial expressions; they're so reflective. Watch for the confusion on the face of the servant when the water is changed to wine in Cana. No nuance is missing from this fine film.
I have no idea how many times I've put this in my DVD player (maybe a hundred in the years I've owned it). Sometimes I watch it, other times I only listen. I've seen it enough to visualize every performance if I'm working in another room.
Can you tell this is my favorite Jesus movie of all times?

Son Swears by Them
This is my son's favorite set of strings for his Ovation, and he goes through strings quickly because of his constant playing, breaking a lot of strings. I try to buy a six pack or a ten pack so I'm not shopping for them so often. Son plays everything from classical to hard rock, and anything in between, and I've listened to his practicing since 1982, so he's not a newbie guitarist. .

Superb Movie That Might Rate Multiple Viewings
Everything about this film, except for the gruesome topic it deals with, is great! It's another notch on Tracy's belt as a marvelous actor, but the other characters also turn in A+ performances,. Its a compelling movie, dealing with the Holocaust, and the aftermath of judgment on the officials who were involved in aiding Hitler's rise to complete, unquestionable power. This era was heartbreaking and egregious, but it seems the whole world was to blame for this slaughter of millions. No one wanted to be involved, and the Holocaust was the result of ignoring Hitler. When this movie is watched, we should also watch Nuremberg with Alec Baldwin. Never Again, we say, but the world has drifted back to sleep,
