YOU GOTTA TRY EM!
Sound and feel amazing. Really different,you will hear tones you haven't heard from your rig if you've only played round wound.
At first you'll hate,but quickly love. I have a nice set up and hear moans and growls I didn't know it could do.
Only test remaining is test of time can't help you there,but I've read reviews claiming 2 years and going(flat wound lasts much longer than round) but well see!

Like flushing $40 down the drain
I'd you have fairly good water you may get something out of it.I have a whole house filter to start with I have iron and a string wound is only thing that can stand the iron.even with this I taste what I guess is the filter itself. water is not good.drinkable cold,but plenty of nasty tastes remain.I have a britta faucet top that does far better for taste some how.$40 is a lit to throw away on a filter that is no better than the cheapest effort I've tried

Get what you buy
1 of 2 found this helpful Tip of iron will not get hot enough to nelt solder. If youve ever ordered something cheap from Asia and package gad Chinese wruting and was a knock off of complete uselessness. A goid little workhorse of a soldering iron is only about $10 bucks
